Royal pains who is boris

As promised, Dr. Boris is basically a bookend to HankMed. He was the one who recruited Hank to stick around in the sunshine and do his personal doctorly bidding, and his departure is part of what finishes it. Head here for more details.

Turns out, Boris is distantly related to Russian royalty — historical czars, in fact — which explains his many monikers and why he was willing to let Evan and his feigned relationship to the monarchy in his doorway back in the pilot episode. And even though Hank declines his offer to join him overseas…somewhere, Boris still wishes the best for his now-old friend.

Lawson of now is pretty shocking, actually, and yes — he does have her to thank for much of his growth. And even Jeremiah gets extraordinarily squishy — for him, at least — when he credits her with his own personal advances.

The diagnosis was made on the basis of Boris' blood causing Hank's bare hand to tingle. The poison was found in the swimming pool, and Dieter was nowhere to be found. They discuss the possibility that Boris's family inheritance of illness may have been the result of "family politics. Things become more complicated when a member of Boris's family comes for a visit, bringing hopes of reconciliation at Boris' sons christening. Boris is involved with Dimitri in a secret, multinational operation in Season 4.

In the episode Off-Season's Greetings , it is hinted that he faked his own death in an explosion at Shadow Pond. It is hinted at the end of Season 8, in the scene on the beach where Hank declines his offer, that Boris may actually be Russian royalty. Royal Pains Wiki Explore. Episode Guide. The meeting wasn't just a farewell to HankMed, the successful concierge medical service.

It was a chance to recognize Divya, one of the three main characters during the show's eight-year run. It was one of many touching moments during the finale. After a hilarious spat between Divya and Evan over who deserves credit for bringing Hank to the Hamptons, Hank interjected. Your tough love helped me grow up.

Without you, I don't know who I would've become. Paige thanked Divya for being a caring friend — and for "doing such a great job raising my husband. It was the chance to have a family again. There were two separate Hank and Evan moments near the end of the finale. Both came at Shadow Pond — the site of so many memories for the brothers.

Evan gets sentimental and tells Hank that he wasn't just his brother, surrogate parent or best friend. That's when Evan breaks the news to Hank: He needs to quit HankMed and focus on his new family, Paige and his job as hospital administrator.

Evan has one more pitch for Hank, though. He asks his brother to come run the emergency room at the hospital. Hank seems flattered, but it's clearly not what he wants. Hank finally gives Evan the gift Boris passed along. It's a letter from Boris that says Shadow Pond will become the permanent residence of the hospital administrator. We get another Hank and Evan moment before the episode concludes. Before this scene, Hank had a conversation with Divya.

It's when the finale gives us a hint that Hank will do something pretty big with his life before the show wraps up. When Hank talks to Evan, he says he's not disappearing. He's just ready for a new challenge. He's flying We don't know yet.

All the people HankMed helped, including me. That's when Evan delivers one of the more memorable lines of the series finale. He tells Hank that HankMed isn't a business. It's a calling. Specifically, Hank's calling. Uninterrupted just happened to be the name of the final episode. Evan hugs Hank before Hank's departure. It becomes obvious that he's in Africa. You know who else is in Africa? That's right. His former love interest, Jill. Hank surprises Jill. He's there with a purpose, though.

He tells her that the reason he came to the Hamptons was Jill. And not just because she knew the area, but because she knew Hank. Jill said it was hard to walk away from what they had, but they "kept getting interrupted by our jobs, our exes, our families.

We fast forward three years later and we see Evan and Paige at Shadow Pond. They apparently had twin boys. Hank is there with Jill.
