Greys anatomy why is meredith fired
She went to the jail to see DeLuca, telling him that taking the fall was a stupid thing to do, and that she needed to clean up her own messes, because she stands by the decision she made to make sure her patient got care.
Owen Kevin McKidd is trapped in a massive traffic jam caused by the fog, along with a blood donor with a rare blood type who is the only one to help a patient at the hospital.
After spending the end of their camping trip arguing, Jackson Jesse Williams and Maggie Kelly McCreary ended up trapped in the remaining wreckage from the earlier pile-up, and Jackson disappeared to get help.
Finally, Maggie got tired of waiting for him to get back, and got out of the car to find him herself, but he was nowhere to be seen. Instead of sympathizing with her, Bailey fired her, telling her that she and Meredith had something in common now. Eliza was brought in to revamp the surgical residency program, but she ended up getting fired for a mistake that wasn't related to her job description.
After an oxygen tank explosion caused a fire at the hospital, Jackson instructed Eliza to tell the police that Stephanie was missing. However, Eliza forgot to do so since she was preoccupied with getting the patients out of the building. Though she did her best to defend herself, Bailey fired her, claiming the hospital didn't need robots who only followed protocols and couldn't make alternative decisions.
After being dismissed, she moved out of her apartment with Arizona and refused to talk to her. Leah openly admitted that she got into the surgical program easily because of Mark Sloan, who had been romantically involved with her mother. However, she had a hard time in the OR and she eventually got dismissed by Richard. The worst thing about Leah's dismissal was that she had already heard rumors that someone was going to get fired. Worried it might be her, she began stress-eating.
Her fears were confirmed when Richard called her aside and told her that she was a good doctor but not a good surgeon. Luckily, she managed to redeem herself. Leah went on to work at Forster Hospital where she improved her skills significantly. She was then rehired at Grey Sloan. Vik's dismissal was perhaps the most justified. When a patient named Tad came to the hospital with a nosebleed, Vik assumed it was nothing serious.
He parked him in a bed and promised to come and check on him later. Vik didn't check on him until 5 hours had passed and when he came back, the patient was coughing up blood. Koracick stepped in to help and was shocked to find out that Vik hadn't ordered any tests. Despite their best efforts, the patient died. However, he was rejected for making too much money. Meredith, wanting to save him from financial ruin, put her daughter, Ellis's, name on the chart, so they could use Ellis's insurance to pay for Gabby's medical care.
They soon learned that Gabby had cancer. Richard was horrified to learn what she'd done and said that there was another way. If they could keep her in the hospital for 30 consecutive days, she could get insurance. Catherine and Bailey learned that there was an inconsistency with Gabby's insurance coverage and investigated it along with the company that insured their employees.
Impulsively, Andrew confessed to putting Ellis's name down on Gabby's chart. He was quickly arrested. Wanting to get Andrew out of jail, Meredith confessed to the insurance fraud, but Alex and Richard stepped in behind her and also confessed, trying to save her.
Bailey then fired all three of them. Meredith hired Nancy Klein to represent her in court. Nancy assured her she'd be deeply repentant and would get a few hours of community service and that would be that.
She believed it was highly unlikely that the medical board would take action against Meredith. Meredith appeared before a judge, who asked her if she regretted what she did. She said only to the extent she could knowing that Gabby was doing better. After Meredith found out that DeLuca was going to prison for her, she immediately found Dr.
Bailey and Dr. Catherine Avery and told them the truth about what she did in a conference room. But just as Meredith was revealing what really happened, her co-workers and friends, Dr. Alex Karev and Dr. Richard Weber, ran in to tell them that they were involved as well.
So, how did the Chief handle it? She fired them all! So, how will Meredith take the harsh actions against her?
