Fonejacker first aired on the 9 May as a one-off pilot made for Channel 4's Comedy Lab. Due to the success of the pilot a whole six episode series was commissioned, prior to the first series airing a Christmas Message aired in December which had a message at the end which advertised the first series. Although due to be first aired in April , the programme was put on hold and eventually aired between July and August Fonejacker returned later in the year for a Christmas Special.
