What is the difference between policies and laws
The implementation of policies is often confined to a few sectors like trade, economy, social plans, etc.. A policy can be a guideline, rule, law, welfare program, etc..
In a democratic country whenever a plebiscite happens and a new government takes control of the country these policies are changed, and the basic agenda of the change in policies is to focus on more neglected underdeveloped sections of society. The policy is enforced for achieving certain goals. Policies are a set of rules that guide any government or establishment. Every government has its policies and thus, policies are not fundamental like laws. Whenever a new government takes control of the country they are expected to announce their policy which will give an idea to the citizens of what the government will be doing for the next few years for the development and welfare of society.
Policies are informal which can be changed by the government and does not include judiciary in changing policies. They are completely decisions of the government of what and how to make government. Policies are only documents. Not adhering to a policy might lead to punishment but comparatively less severe punishment for not adhering to the law. Laws and policies both of them are important for the Welfare of society and they are interconnected with each other.
The policy is a system of principles that are put in place by an individual or organization to make good decisions and get better outcomes. A policy can be put in place by anyone, from a government sector organization to an individual. For example, corporate companies have their own policies that the employees have to follow.
Policies can also lead to the formation of new laws by the governments. A Difference between Policy and Law is that laws are made for maintaining justice in society while policies are made to achieve a certain goal. The policies made in any institute have the aim of creating a comfortable working environment in the institute and getting outcomes, according to the mission statement of the organization. These documents can also be made by an individual and most of the times, courts are not involved.
